What are your Short Term and Long Term goals?
Short term goals are just to continue to improve. I'm still so new to the sport that I want to keep learning what my body is capable of. Long term, I want to run sub 3 off the bike in the full.
What impact has NVDM Coaching had on you?
NVDM has allowed me to create friends who share a common interest with me and for that, I am forever thankful. They push me in the sets as well as inspire me to be the best version of myself
What is your favorite discipline? And why?
Running without a doubt. When I was playing baseball in college, running was often the go to punishment, so I absolutely hated it. However, once I started in the endurance realm it became a way for me to clear my head and was able to find a love for it. Plus, I love my coaches saying, and as a former golfer too, "Bike for show, run for dough".
What is your favorite workout?
My favorite workout is 6 to 8 by 1k on a track at half-marathon goal pace.
What is one piece of training advice that you would share with others?
I find myself often putting self-pressure to nail each and every set, but as a guy with a full-time job, I've really come to view the training as the "fun" part of my day. I wish I could tell my earlier self the cheesy but true saying of progress over perfection and that is what I would preach to others.
What is your favorite meal?
My favorite food is breakfast so it would be something along the lines of eggs mixed in with some veggies but with a hearty side of chocolate chip pancakes (my absolute favorite) drenched in maple syrup.
What is a fun fact about you that most people might not know?
I'm 25% Salvadorian.
